Yesterday we had a very special evening at El Miracle! We celebrated the last event of Coeliac Month 2024 with a spectacular dinner in collaboration with the Coeliac Association of the Valencian Community (ACECOVA). This event was the perfect grand finale to conclude a month full of activities and awareness about coeliac disease.
The evening began with an interesting talk given by ACECOVA, where our guests received valuable tools to improve the gluten-free lives of people with coeliac disease. The information shared was very enriching and allowed attendees to gain a greater understanding of the disease and the best practices for managing it.
Hiba Malek, owner of El Miracle, also took centre stage during the talk. She explained El Miracle’s firm commitment to coeliac disease by offering a 100% menu that is free from gluten and cross-contamination. Hiba shared how the team has worked over the years to implement rigorous safety and quality controls across all its processes. Her aim is simply to provide a safe and delicious culinary experience, as well as to support and raise awareness amongst the public about coeliac disease and its symptoms.
After the talk, the moment we’d all been waiting for arrived: dinner. We enjoyed a special menu consisting of a falafel platter, Argentinian-style empanadas, causa limeña, criolla-style entreña and, for dessert, leche frita – all 100% gluten-free. Every bite was further proof that, with the necessary care and time, gluten-free food can be just as tasty as any other (or even more so!).
To conclude the evening, we had the honour of presenting the first solidarity beer cheque. We want to thank everyone, men and women alike, for joining us and becoming part of this family that grows larger every day.
